Rest, and the moon
requielune is named for requies — rest — and lune. Two words for the same end of the day.
Most meditation apps try to cover everything: focus, productivity, movement, therapy, sleep. We cover the end of the day. Winding down, getting to sleep, getting back to sleep, and the short resets that make those possible. It is a narrower product on purpose.
That focus decides most of what the app is. Sessions are short by default. The interface stays out of the way. The brightest thing on any screen is the breathing orb. Nothing pushes, nothing celebrates loudly, and nothing scolds you for a missed day.
How we make sessions
Every practice is written on one page, read aloud, and cut until it fits. It is recorded in a single take with no music bed, and the room tone is kept. Then it is left for a week and re-listened to at six in the morning, when nobody is generous about their own work. What survives that gets released — quietly, with no launch and no push notification.
Two guides record everything: Ama and Ren. We would rather you know both voices well than scroll past forty of them.
The moon is content, not decoration
Practice follows the real lunar calendar. There is an intention practice on the new moon and a release practice on the full moon, with phase-appropriate sessions in between. It is computed from the date rather than scheduled by hand, so it is never late and never arbitrary.
What we will not do
- No streak guilt. Numbers are observations, never targets you have missed.
- No countdown timers, fake scarcity, or struck-through anchor prices.
- No selling your practice history. It is deletable at any time.
- No second notification to tell you that you missed the first.
Careers
We are a small team and hire rarely. When we do, roles are listed here. In the meantime, writing to hello@requielune.com with something specific you would want to work on is more useful than a general application.
